October 2020
It’s that time of the year to plan your staff’s year-end celebration. We all know what a tough year it has been, and now more than ever your staff need to be recognised and appreciated. With some precautions still in place, the open-top bus with City Sightseeing is the perfect way to treat your staff for a day out.
With an exciting and action-packed day planned, spend the day on board with us and experience all the city has to offer. By joining us on our Red, Blue and Purple Routes, you can experience all the below in one day!
Team building
Start the day at Stop 1 at the Waterfront where our ticket offices are located. We have put together an itinerary to help you plan the exciting day!
Early Breakfast Bite
To fuel the engines for the day ahead, let your team grab a coffee and muffin at the Bootlegger Coffee Company located at the Two Oceans Aquarium at the Waterfront. Departing the Waterfront on the Red Route, the bus meanders through the city centre. Lucky for your staff, they can look out the windows, or views from the top deck, and appreciate that they are not in the office like many others in the business hub of the city centre.
Appreciating the views and taking team pictures
Arriving at Table Mountain at Stop 7, your team will be whizzed up the mountain in the state of the art cable car that takes no more than 5 minutes to reach the summit. Gather the team and take a selfie at the big yellow picture frame with the views of Twelve Apostles mountain range to the left or the city bowl and ocean in the foreground.
Cable car
For the adrenalin junkies in your team, you may want to offer an abseil experience with Abseil Africa. The overall activity takes approximately 45 minutes which includes the safety briefing, harnessing up and the abseil experience. If some of your crew aren’t keen on the abseil, they can take a stroll, or a free walking tour, along the top of the mountain and enjoy the views, fauna and flora.
Abseil off Table Mountain
Head back to the V&A Waterfront and change over to our Blue Mini Peninsula Route.
Team Lunch in the Winelands
Meandering around the mountain, the bus will take you to Constantia. Jump off at Stop 21 at the Constantia Nek Wine Shop which is our change point for the Purple Winelands Route. Head straight to Groot Constantia Wine Estate (Stop 25) where a team lunch and wine experience awaits.
Enjoy a leisurely lunch at this beautiful estate. We recommend a picnic-style lunch on the lawns at Simons Restaurant. This is the perfect spot to unwind for a couple of hours, enjoy each other’s company, and end off a delicious lunch with chocolate and wine pairing experience.

Water Activities in Hout Bay
Depart the Winelands region and take the scenic drive on our Blue Route and jump off at Stop 24 in Hout Bay. This stop is located directly in the harbour and the perfect place to enjoy a team water activity. Enjoy a boat trip to Seal Island to view the Cape Fur seals. This exciting boat trip is 40 minutes and a fantastic way to enjoy the fresh air and the smell of the ocean. Or, for the teams with more of a taste for adrenalin, join Adventure Works and book a team experience on one of their RIB Boats. This adrenalin experience will see your team blasting across the waves, as the speed boats head towards Duiker Island. If the weather is good, the boats will continue around the coast to the Boss 400 shipwreck. Speeding across the waves your team will have views of Sentinel Hill, Sandy Bay and Chapmans Peak.

A coastal journey and ice cream await
The bus departs Hout Bay and takes the most magnificent coastal journey back towards the city centre. Heading over Suikerbossie Mountain Pass, past the luxurious white sandy beaches of Llandudno, jump off at Stop 8 in Camps Bay. The perfect place to end the day. Grab the team dessert in the form of ice cream from Gelato Mania or Addictions both situated in the Promenade Mall. Let your team enjoy a stroll along the white sandy beaches or relax on the sand taking time to reflect on the amazing day of memories created.
All good things come to an end
Departing from Camps Bay the bus continues the coastal route passing Clifton, Bantry Bay, Sea Point, Green Point, Mouille Point and finally reaching your original starting point of the V&A Waterfront.
Team having fun
What a day it has been. From mountain tops to Winelands, to waves in the harbour, and ice cream on the beach, this will be a year-end celebration to top all others. Join us on board and send off the year in an epic way!
