Starting 8 April 2017, you can combine your visit to the SAB World of Beer in Johannesburg with a trip to SAB's Alrode Brewery, on one Saturday a month.

The plant size of Alrode Brewery, Africa's largest brewery, covers 25 rugby fields. A total of 2.1-million litres of beer are brewed here per day, using eight million litres of water in the process. It doesn't stop at brewing, though: Alrode has to print about 80 000 beer labels per week, adding up to 4.2-million labels each year. The brewery produces Castle, Carling Black Label, Hansa Pilsener, Castle Milk Stout, Castle Lite and Miller Genuine Draft.

Guests arrive at the SAB World of Beer in Newtown, Johannesburg, by 9.30am. At 10am, you will depart by shuttle to Alrode, where brewer Anton Erasmus will take you through the brewing and packaging process step by step. You'll return to the World of Beer by 12.30pm for a shortened beer tour, followed by lunch and refreshments in the Tap Room from 1pm to 2pm.
