Everything you need to know about the Cape Point Explorer day trip
The Cape Explorer: Cape Point Tour is a fully guided (in English) day excursion to Cape Point in a luxury air-conditioned coach.
You'll spend the day exploring the spectacular Cape Point Nature Reserve, part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site, with a stop en route at Boulders Beach to visit the African penguins.
The Cape Explorer: Cape Point Tour leaves Cape Town in the morning, picks guests up from selected City Sightseeing bus stops along the way, and takes a scenic drive to Boulders Beach through Muizenberg and Fish Hoek. The guide will highlight points of interest along the way (in English) and will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the route, Cape Point and Boulders Beach.
At Cape Point, expect some of the most breathtaking mountain and ocean scenery in the world. Here you can enjoy a bite to eat or hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope headland (medium fitness required).
If you’re in the mood for a delicious meal with a view after exploring the area, book at the Two Oceans Restaurant, or grab a quick snack at the café.
Using the Flying Dutchman funicular to the viewing point below the lighthouse, guests can admire glorious views across False Bay; there is also an optional hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope where the Explorer coach will collect you as it continues the tour.
If you’re a nature lover, look out for wild animals such as antelope, baboons, ostriches, Cape mountain zebras and more than 250 species of birds.
After a full day spent exploring, sit back in your seat, use the free on-board Wi-Fi to share pictures of your adventures and enjoy the coastal drive back to Cape Town via Scarborough and Kommetjie, with spectacular views from the Ou Kaapse Weg mountain pass.
Enjoy the scenic coastal drive to Muizenberg and a quick stopover to say hello to the penguins at Boulder Beach, your once-in-a-lifetime chance to come within metres of the birds in a protected natural environment.
