One of the most popular stops on the Red City Tour is the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway (TMAC). And in light of its recent scheduled maintenance and facelift, it’s our featured stop of the month for August.
Following a two-week shutdown for annual maintenance, TMAC unveiled its newly branded cable cars. According to its site, “The design on the exterior of the cable car features Table Mountain’s ascending contour lines and hiking trails, to encourage visitors to see the mountain from a new perspective.”
The new orange-and-blue cable cars isn’t the only reason to hop off at STOP 7. Here are a few more, in case you needed a little persuasion:
You can skip the ticket office queue by buying your Cableway ticket at our tour offices or from our bus drivers
The red bus takes you directly to the Lower Cable Station and runs regularly, so you can spend as much time as you like enjoying the views at the summit
The journey to the top lasts between 4 to 5 minutes, with a fully rotational cabin floor giving you an incredible 360 degree view of the city. Photo courtesy of TMAC
At more than 1 000m above Cape Town, the views make for perfect photo opportunities. Photo courtesy of TMAC
Table Mountain offers free guided walks. Learn about the history of the mountain and the Cableway, as well as the beautiful fauna and flora. Photo courtesy of TMAC
Much like the red bus, Table Mountain runs a Sunset Special during the warmer months and the views are spectacular. Photo courtesy of TMAC
The Cableway has several special offers, including its own 3-for-1 Kidz Season special – the perfect match for our red bus 3-for-1 weekend special. Photo courtesy of TMAC
