With one red bus ticket, you can hop on and hop off at as many stops as you like, as often as you like.
In Cape Town you can do the same tour or multiple tours (there are four) more than once, and hop off at a different stop every time! In Joburg you can either buy a ticket for the City Tour or the City Tour and Soweto Combo, and hop on and hop off at our stops along the way.

To highlight the hours of family fun to be had with a red bus ticket, we've put together these kid-friendly combo suggestions for Cape Town and Joburg:
Cape Town
V&A Waterfront (stop 1)
A popular destination for both the young and the young-at-heart, the V&A Waterfront is home to a variety of activities for children. From the red Hamleys train to the kids' play park, Jolly Roger Pirate Boat and Two Oceans Aquarium – there is so much to see and do here!
Table Mountain Cableway (stop 7)
For those memorable holiday snaps, hop on the City Tour bus to Table Mountain Cableway. Go up the mountain in a cable car, take in the 360-degree views of the Cape Peninsula and see how many animals you can spot.
World of Birds (stop 22)
Don’t forget to also hop on the Mini Peninsula Tour and visit the World of Birds. This unique stop is home to more than 3 000 birds and over 400 different species of small animals, which means you can look forward to your very own Cape Town safari. City Sightseeing ticket holders receive a R5 discount on entry.
Tip: Start your day at the V&A Waterfront (stop 1), hop on a City Tour and hop off at the Cableway (stop 7). When you're ready, hop back on a red bus and return to stop 1. Hop off and hop on a Mini Peninsula Tour to go to World of Birds (stop 22).
Green Point and Urban Park (stop 12)
Stroll along the promenade with the kids, tour the inside of one of South Africa's oldest lighthouses, play a game of putt-putt and spend time at the Urban Park. This stop promises hours of fun for little adventurers – with play parks along the Green Point promenade and in the Urban Park.
Kirstenbosch Gardens (stop 20)
All of this exploring has probably made you hungry, and what better place to have lunch than at Kirstenbosch Gardens? Renowned for the beauty and diversity of its Cape flora, this is the perfect stop. Even better than the view, is the 10% discount each red bus passenger receives on his or her meal at Moyo Kirstenbosch.
Mariner's Wharf (stop 24)
A family favourite, with lots to see and experience – the kids will love a visit to this fishing village. Take a walk along the beach, grab a delicious box of fish and chips, watch Hout Bay's resident seal being fed or take a boat trip to Seal Island. Pop in at the Bay Harbour Market for live music, a wide range of food and over 100 stalls.
Tip: Hop on our Mini Peninsula Tour at the V&A Waterfront (stop 1) and hop off at Kirstenbosch Gardens (stop 20). Once you've extensively explored the gardens, hop on a red bus and hop off at Mariner's Wharf (24) for seaside views. From here you can hop on a red bus and hop off at Green Point and Urban Park (12).
Joburg
Carlton Centre (stop 2)
The city looks like a children’s street-map rug and the vehicles like toy cars from the 50th floor of Carlton Centre, Africa's highest building. Meet your City Sightseeing guide at stop 2, from where you’ll be guided to the top of the building. On a clear day you'll even be able to point out the OR Tambo International Airport to the kids as you see airplanes taking off or landing.
James Hall Museum of Transport (stop 3)
Hop off at South Africa’s biggest land-transport museum and one of Joburg’s best-kept secrets. Here you’ll see everything from old penny-farthing bicycles, animal-drawn carts and ox wagons to steam locomotives, Joburg’s first tram, electric cars and fire engines.
Gold Reef City (stop 4)
Visit the Gold Reef City Theme Park, which offers exhilarating rides such as the Tower of Terror and the Anaconda. While some rides are only for adults and bigger children, there is plenty of entertainment for younger children too, making Gold Reef City the perfect family-friendly destination. You can even take a trip down a former gold mine for only R100.
Sci-Bono Discovery Centre (stop 7)
Sci-Bono is the perfect stop for the inquisitive mind. This old power station building has been refurbished into an interactive science and technology museum, aiming to create an interest in maths, science and engineering among young people.
Origins Centre (stop 9)
Make sure to hop off at the Origins Centre at Wits to learn about the history of humankind, to see its impressive fossil and rock-art collections, and to learn more about the San people.
Tip: Pick two or three stops for the day to make sure you have enough time to enjoy all there is to discover at each stop. If you're connecting to City Sightseeing via the Gautrain, we suggest you start your red bus tour at stop 1 (Gautrain Park Station).
