Children hop on and off for free with our 3-for-1 Kids’ Special in Cape Town

26 April 2018

It’s time for City Sightseeing’s annual 3-for-1 Kids’ Special again, which means you can take two kids (under 18) along for free when you buy one adult one-day bus ticket or Harbour Cruise ticket. The special runs from 1 May to 8 October 2018 and will be valid on weekends, school holidays and public holidays.

Children can take in the sights and sounds of the city with their very own kiddies’ channel. They’ll also love these stops along the way:

Recommendation: Two Oceans Aquarium (<a href="https://www.citysightseeing.co.za/en/cape-town/v-a-waterfront">stop 1</a>)

Two Oceans Aquarium (stop 1)

The Two Oceans Aquarium makes for an exciting visit for the whole family, offering a variety of display tanks, interactive experiences, a touch pool and the highly popular predator exhibit. As one of Cape Town’s foremost tourist attractions in Cape Town, this incredible underwater nature reserve, home to 3 000 marine creatures, showcases the rich diversity of the Indian and Atlantic oceans.

Recommendation: Table Mountain (<a href="https://www.citysightseeing.co.za/en/cape-town/table-mountain-aerial-cableway">stop 7</a>)

Table Mountain (stop 7)

Haven’t seen the city from the top of Table Mountain? City Sightseeing offers the best way to get to the Table Mountain Cableway. Enjoy views of the city, Robben Island, Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles. Perfect for those holiday snaps!

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (stop 20)

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is famous across the world – it showcases the unparalleled diversity and beauty of the magnificent Cape Floral Kingdom. Go for a long, leisurely walk through the gardens, enjoy a traditional high tea at the popular Kirstenbosch Tea Room or stroll around the garden’s famous cycad arboretum.

Recommendation: World of Birds (<a href="https://www.citysightseeing.co.za/en/cape-town/world-of-birds">stop 22</a>)

World of Birds (stop 22)

While there are more than 3 000 bird species to see at Hout Bay’s World of Birds sanctuary, this conservation- and education-focused haven also offers a home to reptiles such as rock monitors and tortoises and mammals including monkeys, meerkats, porcupines and baboons.

Camps Bay (stop 8)

Looking for a scenic lunch spot during your sightseeing adventure? Hop off in Camps Bay and enjoy a magnificent burger at the Hard Rock Café with its gorgeous beach view. Giving the kids a special treat doesn’t need to break the bank either, as your City Sightseeing ticket earns you a 10% discount off the bill.

Did you know?

Kids under the age of five ride for free on the red bus, with children aged five to 17 only paying R100 for a Classic one-day ticket. That’s half price! Book your tickets online to save even more, with R20 off every adult ticket.

Top tip: Combine the 3-for-1 Kids’ Special with City Sightseeing’s Pensioner Special

During school holidays the 3-for-1 Kids’ Special can be combined with City Sightseeing’s Pensioner Special, which runs on Tuesdays and Fridays. The Pensioner Special allows pensioners to buy half-price tickets for the red bus and Harbour Cruise at any stop or on the bus (not available online). Combining the two means grandpa and grandma can get a 50% discount on their tickets on Tuesdays and Fridays and take along the grandchildren for free! Hop on the bus at any stop but remember to bring your barcoded South African ID along to qualify for the Pensioner Special.
