The V&A Waterfront’s annual New Year’s Eve bash has become somewhat of an iconic event in Cape Town. Boasting four entertainment zones, old and young will be dazzled by street performers, dancers, live music and a stunning firework display at midnight. Be sure to arrive hungry to enjoy the best of Cape Town’s food trucks that will be offering all sorts of delicious treats to celebrate the new year.

Celebrate the new year in an idyllic setting of starry skies and rolling lawns under the shadow of Devil’s Peak at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. Pack a blanket, snacks and a bottle of bubbly and get ready to sing and dance with your favourite local artists, Johnny Clegg and pop rock collective Slow Jack. Don’t forget the trusty picnic basket!

Don’t miss out on the eighth annual Rock The Mother City street party hosted by the Protea Hotel Fire & Ice. Get ready for a fun fiesta happening on Church Street in the centre of town with top South African DJs, Dino Michael from Good Hope FM, DJ Loyd (5FM), DJ OD (Metro FM Urban House Mix), Sir Vincent (5FM Mix DJ) and many more blasting in the new year with their fantastic beats.

Welcome 2017 in style to the soothing sounds of the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra in the heart of the Paarl Wine Route. The orchestra will be conducted by Brandon Phillips and guests performances include Brandon October, Melanie Scholtz and Sterling EQ. Expect anything from Bach to classics such as “Unforgettable” and “The Impossible Dream”. Guests are invited to bring picnic baskets and blankets but be warned there will be gourmet food trucks selling tasty fare and snacks will also be on sale. Please leave your beverages at home as Nederburg wines, craft beers and other drinks will be sold on site.
Cost: R175 for kids aged 12-17, R300 for adults
Transport: A transport bus service will depart from Artscape Theatre at 7pm. Return tickets cost R80 for adults and R30 for 18 and under. Be sure to book in advance.
