Hop on City Sightseeing’s Sunset Bus, the best way to enjoy Cape Town’s glorious sunsets.
The City Sightseeing red bus is the best way for tourists and locals to experience all the top tourist attractions in Cape Town. What makes the Sunset Bus special is that it isn’t the usual hop-on, hop-off tour, but rather a three-hour loop that takes passengers on a tour of the city’s finest viewpoints, best enjoyed in the final hours of daylight.

(Image: City Sightseeing) As the sun dips into the Atlantic, the bus will stop at the top of Signal Hill, its final destination, where passengers are encouraged to bring along picnics and enjoy the amazing views of the city, Lion’s Head and the Atlantic Ocean. For added festive fun, after sunset the tour the Sunset Bus takes a trip down the city's famous Adderley Street to enjoy the beautiful light exhibition.
The Sunset Bus runs every evening from stop 1 at the V&A Waterfront outside the Two Oceans Aquarium, leaving between 5.30pm and 6pm. There will also be a connecting shuttle departing to the V&A Waterfront from stop 5 in Long Street at 5pm.
Tours run for approximately three hours and passengers will not be allowed to hop off at stops. The tour culminates at Signal Hill, where passengers can enjoy their picnic baskets or snacks. The tours will have 15 language commentaries available, including English, Afrikaans, Arabic, French, German, Dutch, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish and Zulu. Departing daily, the Sunset Bus is the perfect end to a warm summer day. The bus departs at 5.30pm from Stop 1 at the V&A Waterfront (opposite the Aquarium) and returns approximately three hours later.
