For years City Sightseeing has been offering visitors a romantic and scenic tour of the sunset and the city-by-night, and every year we end it off a little different.

Sunset Bus

During the peak season, our usual stop at Signal Hill can get extremely busy and traffic becomes an issue, and we want you to have a relaxing sunset stop to unwind and celebrate the end of another beautiful Cape Town summer’s day. For this reason, we will be rerouting our sunset tour to Blouberg Beach from 21 December up until 5 January.

The whole tour lasts for 2.5 to 3 hours and heads North up the coast to the area with one of the most iconic views of Cape Town’s renowned Table Mountain. Once at Blouberg you can hop off the bus to take some photos, have a swim in the ocean, sip on sundowners, or visit one of the nearby restaurants of cafés. Why not pack your own picnic basket and bring a blanket to sit on to enjoy while you watch the sun dip below the horizon.

The Bloubergstrand area falls within a marine nature reserve, and while the wind is known to pick up around here, it helps to create one of the world's top kitesurfing destinations! There are almost always kites somewhere along the beachfront, and you can sit back and watch them do their aerial acrobatics, flips and tricks.

Once the sun has set, its back on the bus for your return journey through the city to the V&A Waterfront. This is the time of day when the city lights come to life, and the views from the open-top bus are spectacular. Be sure to bring a warm jacket with you for the evening as it can get quite chilly at sundown. Especially if you want to take advantage of the view from the top deck.

Night Lights

This is a fixed tour and passengers will not be able to hop on and off at stops, but ample time will be spent watching the sunset from the beach - so bring the family along and enjoy this Atlantic tour together with a picnic while you raise a toast to another glorious day in the Mother City.
