From relatives to friends, to public figures, we are surrounded by incredible women. With the national holiday of Women’s day just around the corner on Tuesday 9 August, we at City Sightseeing have some amazing specials to celebrate and treat all the women in our lives.

This day honours the women's march of August 1956, when over 20,000 South African women of all races protested the Pass Laws by marching to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. After 30 minutes of silence, the women began to sing ‘Wathint'Abafazi Wathint'imbokodo’, a protest song written especially for the occasion. (After touching the woman, you struck a rock.)

Canal Cruise & Breakfast – R125 per person
We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Take a leisurely cruise along the canal that connects the Waterfront and the CBD by boarding the Red Boat at the wharf beside the One & Only hotel.
Enjoy breakfast at one of the following locations with their scrumptious menu options:
· Canal Cafe/Hotel Harbour Bridge – (served until 12h00) 2 x Eggs, Slice of Grilled Tomato, Breakfast Sausage of the day, Small Bowl of Chips and a Slice of Toast. (Bacon available)
· Cape Malay House / V&A Waterfront Food Market – (available from 10am and served all day) Breakfast Baguette which includes Scrambled eggs with mebos Mayo on a toasted baguette (Halaal)
Before travelling to the breakfast venue, please get your barcode scanned by the boat crew or at the ticket office (stop no. 1 at the V&A Waterfront next to the Aquarium) as you will need the breakfast coupon on your ticket to order your breakfast. Your canal cruise ticket includes breakfast and is valid all day, so be sure to step off and visit Battery Park or simply enjoy the unusual vistas from the water that are rarely seen from the road.
Canal Cruise & Brunch – R140 per person
Take a leisurely cruise along the canal that connects the Waterfront and the CBD by boarding the Red Boat at the wharf beside the One & Only hotel. Enjoy a Women's Day Brunch at the Harbour Bridge Hotel's Canal Cafe, which is situated along the canal. Your ticket includes breakfast, a mimosa upon arrival at Canal Café, and a canal boat ticket. The menu on offer includes a Health breakfast in a glass followed by a hot plated breakfast of 2 fried eggs, Pork sausages, Herded potatoes, Mushrooms and Toast
