If you’re in Cape Town over December then make sure you visit this area of town. The Green Point Urban Park is situated a stone throw away from the Cape Town Stadium.

●     Open Monday to Sunday (7:00 - 19:00)

●     Free for all to enter

●     Dogs on leashes allowed

As a family you can easily jump on the City Sightseeing Bus and enjoy a scenic route along Camps Bay to Green Point Urban Park. Jump on the red line and hop off at stop 12.

When I mentioned that there is beautiful scenery in the area, this is truth. Walk along the wetlands where you’ll be able to spot water birds frolicking and take note of the water flora diversity. Fresh water flows from Table Mountain down through to the wetlands area. Take in the ocean breeze coming from Sea Point promenade, then turn around and snap pictures of beautiful Table Mountain, Lions Head and Cape Town Stadium. What more could you ask for?

If you’re with family or friends, take the opportunity to host a picnic in the park. Green Point Urban park has several picnic areas with tables and benches. It’s a wonderful location to enjoy company with your loved ones. The park is also dog friendly and you can wander along the paths enjoying the walks and biodiversity along the way.

Do you love nature? The Green Point Urban Park has its own biodiversity garden where you can learn more about the Western Cape fauna and flora. Follow the biodiversity trail and use the interactive boards to learn about the plants in and around the area.
