A group of 45 young radio reporters – from across the country – recently enjoyed a trip on the red bus. The group gathered in Cape Town for a week of activities organised by the Children’s Radio Foundation, which culminated in the Youth Radio Awards 2015.

Project manager Mathapelo Mofokeng says: “The red bus experience was part of our enrichment programme because it is the best way to see the city and its attractions.”

The annual Youth Radio Awards is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions, work and voices of young people. And for many of the youth, their week-long stay in Cape Town was a first of many other experiences – from flying in an aircraft to engaging with others outside of their communities, and being on the red bus.
Mathapelo concludes: “Thank you [City Sightseeing] for doing this for them. It really is the best way to get them around … Seeing and hearing everything, and on a topless bus.”
