Travel Depot hosts Cape Town Tourism's first Coffee and Connect event of 2016

08 March 2016

Cape Town Tourism recently hosted its first Coffee and Connect event of 2016 at the Travel Depot offices in Long Street, where it introduced a new app. The app is called Official Guide to Cape Town and its main function is to make it easy for users to find top attractions in and around the city.

The Coffee and Connect events started back in 2013 as a platform for Cape Town Tourism members to communicate what they need from Cape Town Tourism. The first event this year was also an opportunity for people in the tourism industry to network and share ideas under the theme, “Transport”.

At the event and City Sightseeing South Africa’s CEO, Claus Tworeck, shared some ideas on green transportation.

The Official Guide to Cape Town app gives local businesses an opportunity to be listed on the app and reach a wider audience. The app currently has six members, including Cape Cobra Leathercraft, Culture Club Cheese, Platform8ZA, Royal African Diamonds, and Richard’s Supper Stage and Bistro.

The app is free, and has dozens of insider tips for top tourist attractions around the city. Download the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play for Android.

To find out more about the app and upcoming events, visit the Cape Town Tourism desk at the Travel Depot in 81 Long Street.
