Tick off bucket-list items with our Cape Point and Penguin Day Tour Greet the African penguins at Boulders Beach, see breathtaking views at Cape Point and even stop off at the Cape of Good Hope.
The Cape Point and Penguin Day Tour is a full-day, live-guided tour, ensuring you get the most out of your trip to these scenic attractions. The guide will highlight points of interest along the way and will be on hand to answer any questions you have about the route and attractions.
The tour starts in Cape Town, picking up passengers at several designated pick-up spots, which you confirm upon booking. What makes the Cape Point & Penguin Day Tour unique is that it is not a hop-on, hop-off tour like on our open-top tours. Instead, you’ll be travelling in a luxury air-conditioned coach with a set itinerary, accompanied by a knowledgeable guide.
Stopping off at Boulders Beach, you’ll have the chance to come within metres of the endangered African penguins in a protected natural environment. Don’t forget to snap a photo of the experience!
The next stop is the spectacular Cape Point Nature Reserve, part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site. Enjoy a short drive through the reserve and look out for wild animals such as antelope, baboons, ostriches and Cape mountain zebras.
At Cape Point, you can take the Flying Dutchman funicular to the viewing point below the lighthouse, while fitness fanatics can take a steep walk up and admire the glorious views across False Bay. To add an extra sensory experience to the trip, there is also an optional hike from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope, where the coach will collect you as it continues the tour.
After a full day spent exploring, sit back in your seat, use the free on-board Wi-Fi to share pictures of your adventures, and enjoy the coastal drive back to Cape Town.
This is a great way to see Cape Town, especially when you travel alone and do not have a car to get around. Trips to Cape Point and the Winelands have been amazing and you meet great guides and other people from all different nations on the bus. The blue and red line drive along good routes and you get to see so many nice areas and sights to explore in the city and its surroundings. I would highly recommend it.

This trip was well organised and gave us a good amount of time at Cape Point and at Boulders Beach. The bus was comfortable, well equipped and our guide Fred, was excellent. His humour was great and he made the tour even more enjoyable. All in all it was a good value excursion.

I took this trip in January 2018. I don't usually like tours, but I had limited time in Cape Town and no car, so this was the best way to see Cape Point and the penguins. I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the trip. The guide was excellent, he shared so much interesting information. I was able to climb to the lighthouse (usually a walk, but we pushed against gale force winds!), hike down from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope, and walk out to see the penguins at Boulders Beach. So I got to stretch my legs, and didn't feel stuck on the bus all day. I highly recommend this trip.
