Knowing your budget goes a long way when planning a trip. If you decide to spend a day (or two) on the City Sightseeing red bus, here is what you need to know about the cost.
Cape Town
- A one-day ticket costs R220 per adult, while the online price is R200 (save R20)
- Children aged five to 17 pay R110 for a one-day ticket
- Children under five ride for free (only two children allowed per paying adult)
In Cape Town you can use a one-day ticket for any of the main tours.
If you would like to spend two days on the bus, you can buy a two-day ticket online here, or from our ticket offices in Long Street and at the V&A Waterfront.
If you have a one-day ticket and are on the bus, you can upgrade to a two-day ticket while on the bus provided you do so on the actual day of travel.
All you need to do is pay the difference of R100 to the driver or any of the staff at our ticket kiosks and get a two-day ticket upgrade.
The two-day ticket is valid for two consecutive days and includes the City Tour, Downtown Tour, Mini Peninsula Tour and Wine Tour plus a free Waterfront Harbour Cruise and Sunset Bus Tour.
Waterfront Harbour Cruise and Sunset Bus Tour can be redeemed on one of three consecutive days from date of issue.
Joburg
- A one-day ticket costs R220 per adult, while the online price is R200 (save R20)
- Children aged five to 17 pay R110 for a one-day ticket
- Children under five ride for free (only two children allowed per paying adult)
In Joburg a one-day ticket is valid for the Red City Tour and the Green Tour.
If you would like to spend two days on the bus exploring Joburg, you can buy a two-day ticket online here, or from our ticket office at The Zone in Rosebank.
If you have a one-day ticket and are on the bus, you can upgrade to a two-day ticket while on the bus provided you do so on the actual day of travel.
